Dispatcher

Dispatch, fleet & live map

Plan routes from loaded orders, assign drivers and vehicles, optimise stops, then dispatch.

What dispatch can plan

Open Dispatch. By default only Loaded orders appear in the unassigned list (still in warehouse = not ready). Small depots can switch Settings → Defaults → Fulfillment mode to Simple depot: then Confirmed orders appear here and pick/pack/load is skipped.

Standing routes (driver + vehicle) are managed under Dispatch → Standing Routes. The Dispatch board only lists a day’s run after you assign orders to it.

Filter by date, warehouse, and zone. Each unassigned order shows customer, address, window, estimated weight/volume, and credit-hold flags.

Create a route

  1. Set up Standing Routes (name, driver, vehicle) once.
  2. On the board, select unassigned orders and Assign to a standing route — or use Suggest by zone.
  3. Open the day’s route (it appears under Today’s routes once it has stops). Review sequence, capacity, and windows.
  4. Optimise the sequence before wheels turn.
  5. Dispatch when the van is ready. Orders flip to out for delivery and appear in the driver app.

Open Live Map for progress. If map tiles fail, the stop list still works — do not wait on a map to manage the day. Click through to a route for the full stop board.

Fleet

Vehicles and Drivers must exist before you can assign a route. Temperature-controlled vehicles surface extra checks on POD when the route needs them. Inactive drivers should be turned off rather than left assignable.

Deliveries office

Deliveries is the office view of stops and PODs after the van is out: exceptions, credit blocks at the door, and shared POD links. Use it to help a driver or a customer, not to invent a second proof of delivery.

If a stop cannot be delivered, the driver records failed / refused with a reason. Moving undelivered goods back needs care — the stock on the van was already decremented at load and will reconcile to delivered qty at POD. Talk to warehouse and finance before “just putting it back on the shelf” outside the system.
