Warehouse pick, pack & load

Receive stock, generate waves, pick by FEFO, pack containers, and close a scanned load.

Keep stock honest before you pick

Open Inventory for levels. To put stock on the floor:

  • Goods receipts — choose warehouse, add lines (SKU, qty, batch/expiry if used). Save draft while counting; Post receipt when it is real. Only posted receipts increase sellable stock.
  • Stock adjustments — corrections with a reason. Use sparingly; they still write a movement.
  • Stock transfers — move between warehouses. Complete both sides; do not “fix” with two adjustments.
  • Batches — check lots and expiry. Picking suggests FEFO (first expiry first out).
Inventory — on-hand vs reserved before you generate waves.
Post a goods receipt so confirmed orders have stock to reserve.

Open Warehouse. You will see open picks, pending packs, open loads, and today’s confirmed orders, plus large buttons for Waves, Pick, Pack, Load, and the board. Switch warehouse if you work more than one depot.

1. Waves — generate pick lists

  1. Open Waves and set the delivery date.
  2. Choose strategy: Order-by-order, Batch across orders, or Zone pick.
  3. Confirm how many confirmed orders are not yet on a pick list, then Generate pick lists.

Only confirmed orders (not drafts, not already picked) appear. Open a pick list to start scanning.

2. Pick

Open the pick list. Scan or confirm the suggested batch (FEFO). If you must take a different batch, that is an override — you need permission, and it is recorded.

Work until every line is done. Partial picks leave the list open; finish or hand it to the next picker rather than abandoning it mid-list.

3. Pack

Open Pack. Select an order that is picked. Pack into containers, then print the pack label if you use labels. Packed orders are ready to load.

4. Load

Open Loads, create or open today’s load, then scan every container before close. The counter shows scanned vs expected. A closed load moves orders to Loaded so dispatch can plan them.

Load — scan every container. Closed loads become dispatchable.

Warehouse board

Board is the day’s progress across pick → pack → load. Use it for stand-up, not as a second set of instructions. The pick/pack/load screens are the system of record.

Supervisor board — today’s progress. The pick/pack/load screens remain the system of record.
